In the world of high-performance lubricants, every part matters. And when it comes to building a better future, every student matters.

At Mosil Lubricants, we’ve always believed that our responsibility goes far beyond supplying superior lubrication solutions. It extends into empowering curious minds who’ll shape the world of tomorrow. That belief comes alive through our proud CSR collaboration with Team Manipal Racing.

They are India’s oldest student Formula racing team and compete in prestigious global platforms like SAE BAJA and Formula Bharat. Every part—be it the chassis, drivetrain, suspension, or ergonomics—is designed, tested, and built by the students themselves.

As Team Manipal Racing continues to compete, innovate, and represent India on global platforms, we’re proud to be a part of their journey.

In a world driven by innovation, we’re proud to stand beside these pioneers—not just as a brand, but as believers in what they can become.

Our partnership:

Inspires practical learning
Bridges industry gaps
Empowers confident decision-making

Because when students build, learn and race toward a better future—we’re right there in the pit lane, fueling them forward smoothly.

Tips on Picking out Industrial Lubricants

Choosing the right industrial lubricants requires giving into detail not only individual needs but also knowing how products in the market will meet those needs. This can be quite challenging to those who are not prepared about what comes ahead. There are many ways through which individuals can make sure they are making the right decision about choosing a certain product Some of the factors that are worth considering when it comes to picking the right industrial lubricants are as follows: 1. Increasing Demand Growing demand for machinery is placed on the machinery because businesses want higher output and lower operating cost. This not just means machinery is pushed further but also they are required to maintain the productivity without leading the business to downtime. This increasing demand have led companies to require high quality lubricants that will enable the machinery to function at high speeds also making sure they are in good condition 2. Special Applications When picking a lubricant, one of the main factors to take into consideration is their specialized applications and the characteristics that the ideal lubricant will have. While most of the lubricants generally have characteristics such as corrosion protection, reducing wear and tear etc, there are certain products that are specifically made for special machinery such as aircraft. It is important to be aware of the needs to ensure that you pick the right type of lubricant for the right machinery. 3. Synthetic or General purpose The next step is to decide whether you need a synthetic or general purpose lubricant. Synthetic lubricants work under extreme temperatures and are more durable. Also there are certain types of machinery that cannot function without them. Also these products are more expensive and this should be noted down while picking it. What are they manufactured from? Most of the industrial lubricants are manufactured from 95 per cent oil and 5 per cent additives. While base oils are actually mineral oils, there may be certain types of synthetics added if required for a special application to function. In order to choose the right industrial lubricant for a machine, individuals should invest some time to actually know the contents of the products and make the selection when the time comes.

5 Attributes to Select the Right Grease for Your Equipment Needs

Looking at these below 5 attributes for selecting the right type of lubricating grease for the equipment is crucial. Colour is definitely not one of these as there’s more to it than what meets the eye. When it comes to grease lubricant, there is no such thing as “all-purpose” grease. Every single application requires a different type of oil and here we are discussing the 5 major attributes to look out for while choosing the lubricating grease for your equipment. Frequently Asked Questions- Grease Lubricants   What does Grease comprise of ? Greases comprise of various oils, thickeners & additives and in some situation solid lubrication is also added as per the requirement of applications How can I choose between Oil Lubricant & Grease Lubricant? Can we mix two greases together? What is the service life of grease? What is shelf life of lubricating grease ? Can we scoop out grease from the drum ? Does change of grease color warrant to the change of performance in lubricating grease ? How to apply grease in bearing ? So the five attributes are summed up as follows   1. NLGI Rating The National Lubrication Grease Institute Rating is a criterion that determines the consistency of lubricating grease, the higher the rating, the thicker is the grease. The number is usually determined by the ratio of oil to the thickener in the grease. Low rated grease is helpful in cold climates as pumping is made easier whereas higher rated ones are more stable in hot climates. 2. Thickener There are several additives in lubricating oil, out of which, the thickener is the most important one.  It acts as a ‘soap sponge’ that maintains the consistency of the oil and holds it in its place and then spreads across to lubricate all the components.  Different types of grease are used for different thickening agents, and they may not be compatible with each other. 4. Dropping Point The dropping point is the operating temperature at which grease is liquefied and does not perform.  It is thus important to make use of grease that remains constant within the maximum operating temperature of the application. 5. EP Additives EP which stands for Extreme Pressure is a tag that is labelled under a certain category of lubricating greases.  These are common for various applications except electric motor bearings where it can cause corrosion if there is over greasing on part of motor windings.
